Description

Background Stock: World's End 005 Ruins in Stormy Seas by LuDa-Stock
Well Stock: Path of the Knight 010 also by the lovely LuDa-Stock
Horse Stock: Warmblood 51 by Colourize-Stock
I drew the chain, for some odd reason. It was kind of fun, actually. I quite enjoyed shading it.

Time Taken: Quite a while. I'd say probably 7-8 hours, mostly from that mane and trying to figure out which way I'd like to apply the marking.
Layers: Unknown, as I had to merge them down because I kept moving everything. My best estimate is... around 11, maybe?
Made On: GIMP
Like?: I have mixed emotions in regards to it.
Favorite Part: Mostly the reasoning behind my making it (not the contest, I'm gonna lose that, but the story). Also, the chain around his hind leg.
Least Favorite: I couldn't decide what to do with the rectangle under the text, so that's the main one.
Reason for Making: Contest

I was hit by a massive wave of inspiration after watching this video by InTheLittleWood (also known as Martyn) youtu.be/3a61jZICX7o
I already had the well and stuff, and I had a jumping horse. After watching that video, I thought 'I could make this horse Martyn. He's jumping out of the darkness. He's pulling himself up, as this horse is going to have to do because the tail layer is cut off and I can't move the horse anywhere else.' And the page curl is how he'll hopefully turn a new page, to be a non-depressed (well, depression is a pain that's hard to get out of, but as close to non-depressed as possible) person that I think a lot of people assumed he was. I've nicknamed this peace "Out of the Darkness"-the horse leaping from the well is a metaphor. That I pretty much just explained. The chain is depression, trying to hold him back.
